Directions to Queen’s Medical Research Institute The Centre for Cardiovascular Science is located within the Queen's Medical Research Institute (QMRI) in Little France. QMRI is situated 20-30 minutes (by bus or car) to the south of the city centre. By train There is no rail link near the hospital. Take the train to Waverley Station, Edinburgh and get a bus or a taxi out to the Institute. The Institute is on campus along with the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the University Medical School. By bus A number of services travel to and from the Little France site. From North Bridge (above Waverley Station) take LRT 33 (running every 20 minutes) or 49 (running slightly less frequently) or the 8 (a lengthier route). Lothian Bus Website By car The Institute is on the outskirts of the city on the Old Dalkeith Road (A7), beyond Cameron Toll. From the bypass turn into the city on the A7 north at the Sheriffhall Roundabout (from there it is only a couple of miles). From Princes Street please see directions below. Depart on A1 Princes Street Turn left onto A7 North Bridge for 2.1 miles At the roundabout, take the second exit onto A7 Old Dalkeith Road for 0.9 miles As you approach first set of traffic lights turn left and the first building on the left is the Queen’s Medical Research Institute. Car parking is available in car parks A and C, although it is a little expensive. There are two entrances, C is accessed from the South Entrance, A from the North.
