Information on CVSCore PPMS booking system PPMS is the main lab resource and facility booking system across all sites in BioQuarter Campus including QMRI, Chancellors Building and IRR North and South. It is an open calendar that allows you to see all of your and anyone else's bookable items across the whole system. If you are a CVS student or staff member you should always create your new account with CVS first before any other facility as registering a new account elsewhere will not allow you to access the CVS resources. Setting up a PPMS account Go to PPMS Select CVS CORE EQUIPMENT from the list - THIS STEP IS REALLY IMPORTANT, SELECT ANY OTHER FACILITY AND CVS CANNOT ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT Go to Account Creation Request Complete and submit form Once your account has been activated, you will be able to log onto CVS Core PPMS using your UoE credentials and book core CVS equipment Booking a session PPMS allows you to book any facility, be that a piece of equipment or lab area within CVS or BioQuarter for your work. To book a session, Click the space or piece of equipment that you wish to use Click on the time slot(s) required, click to "book the selected sessions" Your booking is registered and appears on the calendar as a dark blue shaded bar. Some of the more specialised or restricted instruments and equipment in some areas require a confirmation at this stage either from Lab Managers or other authorised staff so these items will be a sea green colour as opposed to the usual blue until such time as approval for use has been given. When approval is given they will change to a blue colour. Cancelling a session You can return and cancel a session at any time. On your home page you will see a section entitled 'My Sessions' and a list of your bookings underneath. If you click view on any item this will take you a page about that session. Scroll down and click 'cancel session' and it will disappear from your sessions list. Setting up availability notifications If you find that a session on an instrument or a bay you hoped to use is already booked, you can request to be informed if that slot subsequently becomes available. Simply click the 'Notifications' tick box on the bottom left of your screen. In this instance you and anyone else who clicked that box will be emailed directly if a cancellation occurs. The re booking of the slot simply goes to whoever responds to that email first. This article was published on 2024-03-19
