If you have an accident or near miss and once you have received first aid, you are expected to report it (Home | Accident/Incident Reporting (ed.ac.uk)). It is important to report near misses as it indicates that the RA in place for a particular procedure needs to be updated to prevent an accident.

After you have filled out the form, you will receive an email from the H&S department asking you to review your RA for the activity you were doing to see if additional controls are required.

If you need to amend the RA please

  • ask Sarah or Cathy for the appropriate form,
  • review and amend the RA
  • send them back to be reviewed and uploaded to the RA folder.
Note
For any technical difficulties with the Accident reporting form, please contact incident.reporting@ed.ac.uk or call 0131 651 4255.
