Information on how to obtain your access card There are certain courses and documentation which are required to work in the CVS. This page has been generated to help you work your way through the process. If you have any questions do not hesitate to get in touch with CVS.lab.access@ed.ac.uk Step 1: Complete Health and Safety Document and Training - Complete Mandatory Health and Safety Training Please see section 1 the training record for details of mandatory training the UoE and CVS require before an access card is granted. NOTE: you are expected to complete Lindsay Murray's Edinburgh BioQuarter courses, however we realise that these can run at random times. Therefore if there are no upcoming dates when you first arrive, please complete the rest of the mandatory training and documentation and send in so you can have your face to face office induction as soon as possible. And please keep an eye out for the next available dates and book onto those. - Complete a personal Lone and Out of Hours Risk Assessment You can be lone working even during normal working hours, it is important that you know what you can and can’t do at these times. The training with Lindsay is completed in conjunction with this LOOH document. Please detail any personal circumstances you might have which could impact on this work and discuss with your Supervisor or Occupational Health. Once completed, you will be send the QMRI Access Card Application form. Please complete section 1 and return to Catherine.Duff@ed.ac.uk Step 4: Organise access to CVS Core PPMS booking system Once you have applied for your card, please apply for access to the CVS Core PPMS booking system by following the instructions below. If any issues, please contact CVS.Lab.Management@ed.ac.uk Go to PPMS Select CVS CORE EQUIPMENT from the list - THIS STEP IS REALLY IMPORTANT, SELECT ANY OTHER FACILITY AND CVS CANNOT ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT Go to Account Creation Request Complete and submit form Once your account has been activated, you will be able to log onto CVS Core PPMS using your UoE credentials and book core CVS equipment and rooms This article was published on 2024-03-19
